A week in the life of a Principal at Truscott Street PS
25th to 29th August 2003

This is one of the MOST interesting positions I've held ... sometimes you just wonder what will happen next.  My days are full of celebrations, negotiations and teaching!  I feel very fortunate to work with a community of families who care so much for our children and our staff.  

Here is a ‘rather condensed’ insight into one of my weeks ...  See you in the playground,

Monday morning playground duty after those huge weekend winds ... thanks kids ...		The kindy farewell committee - there every morning to wish them well as they walk upstairs!	Year 1/2G's latest new class member ... she'll fit in fine - thank you for organising the uniform in 35 minutes flat Joo Young!
1/2G reading groups with parent helpers ...		... and year 6 helpers ...
	... and pop into Kindy while I'm close by ...
Morning assembly ... great science results ...	Mr Hayter's wonderful linemarking and donation of a new outdoor chess set has certainly brightened up the playground!	Collate the annual school-wide survey results and put all the data online. Parents have assessed our strengths and areas of improvement for: ü Leadership and culture ü Parent Satisfaction ü Management and planning ü Each curriculum area These results evaluate current initiatives and inform future planning.	TUESDAY ... Heather from Roseville PS and Scott, our School Council President work on a panel to employ a new Senior School Assistant (we enjoyed Sushi for lunch!)

Lions Club West Pennant Hills - delicious catering.	The playing field was levelled!	THURSDAY Negotiating for a walkway  so our students with disabilities can go to the library when it's raining.
	A bit of administrivia and LOTS of students visiting to receive Truscott awards for excellence in academic, social and sporting achievement.	(I’d rather be walking a walkathon …	… or pushing a billycart)
